Ardmore News 27th July 2010.

Week 29 of the Jackpot stood at £1200; numbers were 13-16-22. There was no winner this weekalthough £50 was won by Johnnie Gormley. Next week’s Jackpot £1400. It is of major importance that families especially those who use the club support the lotto as it is the most consistent source of income for the activities and resources for the running of the club.

The Gaelic Summer Camp will run on the 12 - 14th of August. If anyone would like to help coach the children you are more than well come. We will also be having a Family fun day on the Sunday. It is anticipated we will run a wide variety of both individual and team events and will in the next few weeks be approaching business for prizes. If you feel that you would like to contribute or help organise please contact Michelle, Dolores or Eugene.

Tickets for
the annual draw are now out. They are £10 each or 6 for £50. The prizes range from £1000 to £100. There is also a framed print of Ulster All Ireland Captains and Dinner for two in the Tower Hotel. The draw will take place at the Ardmore GAC Dinner Dance in the Tower Hotel on Saturday the 13th of November. These tickets are a major funding source for the club and it is hoped that every family in the Parish will buy some tickets or even sell some!

The development of the pitch is coming on very well and hopefully when it is completed it will provide a more constructive future for the club and all club members.

There will be
two Under 14 Schools of Excellence in Owenbeg over the next couple of weeks for Under 14 footballers to attend Wednesday 21st July – Owenbeg 4pm – 5.30pm and Wednesday 28th July – Owenbeg 4pm – 5.30pm. Players who attend three or more Oak Leaf School’s of excellence throughout the year can purchase the new Club Derry Jersey for £20. If you can let me know roughly how many of your Under 14’s are attending that’ll help me plan the sessions. Remember these are open to any Under 14 out of Under 12 football who wish to develop

The Oak Leaf Cycle Slam Launch night will be held on Friday 13th August at the Oakleaf Restaurant, Maghera from 7.30pm. The Cycle takes place between the 22nd to 31st August, Chris Collins, Diarmuid Scullion, Richard Ferris and Emmett Stewart will cycle the 700 mile journey in 9 days. For the Launch there will be a BBQ supper with music by Scór Dhoire. It should be a great night’s craic, it would also be a good opportunity for all the coaches in the County to get a night out and have a bit of banter away from the white lines of the green grass. Tickets are £10 each and are available from Owenbeg or any of the Full time coaches.

The feile went well and a massive ‘thank-you’ to all those who accommodate children and helped in any other way.

There will be
another meeting before the Summer Camp, in the Pastoral Centre. If anyone has any ideas for fundraising please contact Michelle or Eugene.
