News Brief 17-06-09

Under 8’s and 10’s training is on Tuesdays 6-7pm, cost is one pound. Children should bring a drink and if possible a coat and football boots.

The application forms for
the summer camp are now available. It will be on the 27th – 30th of August. There will be Derry coaches alongside us and each child will receive a goody bag. Spaces are limited so children will be selected on a first come basis. Any parents wishing to help out and learn new skills are more than welcome and should contact Dolores.

The Under 10 Football blitzes have been changed to this week due to the Derry vs Tyrone match. Ardmore will play against Steelstown, Slaughtneil and Dungiven. It will be hosted in Dungiven. We need drivers as we may have no mini bus. Children should meet at Ardmore Bridge at 6pm. All children are asked to bring black shorts and socks. They should also have a drink, healthy snack and a coat. For further information contact Michelle or Patricia.

Under 14’s have a pre round match in the championship at home to Dungiven on Monday the 22nd at 7.30. All players meet Eoin at Mc Courts Bar at 6.30. Training is at 10.30 at the Bleechgreen full attendance at both is greatly encouraged.

We may have an opportunity to enter an
Under 15 Team in Óg Sport, which is taking place in Owenbeg this Saturday 20th June 10.30am. Teams are 7 aside with 3 subs. Claire or Eoin will be in contact if it can be arrange, so keep it free in-case. The aim is to have every club represented.

Minors are in action on Tuesday evening against Doire Colmcille. Throw in is at 7.30 Venue TBC. Can players make contact with Joe or Jim? We wish them good luck in this quarter final.

Ladies are in action on Monday night against Faughanvale. The venue is the Lisnagelvin pitch and throw in is at 7.15. Can all players be there for 6.30? Please ensure you have black shorts and socks. For further info contact Annette.

The Men were successful against Doire Colmcille at the weekend with 16 points to four. This Saturday they are against Sean Dolans at home; throw in is at 7.30. There may be a possibility this could be changed to Friday night. You support is encouraged. For further info contact Dolores or William.

Annual Draw tickets are now available. Tickets £10 each or book of 6 for £50. All Club members are to try and sell a book, as this is our main source of income this year.

There is a
first aid course coming up which would be of interest to coaches and players. It’s on the 20th of June from10am – 6pm at Da Vinci’s. Please contact Dolores or Joe

The Derry and Tyrone match on June 21st at Casement Park, is not an all ticket event Tickets are required only for the covered stand and need to be ordered through Joe or Dolores. Admission to the terraces can be gained by paying at the turnstiles. Under 16's admission to terrace free.

our online Shop. Get as many of your family, friends, neighbours etc to do their online shopping through the Ardmore GAC shop. The club will receive a commission on every purchase made, so spread the word!

Under 14’s have had several away matches recently are doing brilliant under the guidance of Eoin. This week the 15th they are at home to Lissan. A strong turnout from players and supporters is greatly encouraged.
Under 16’s have a match on Thursday confirmation will be given at training on Saturday morning at 10.30am all players must attend. Contact Clare for further details.
Derry minor manager Richard Ferris will hold
trials on Saturday 20th of June for under-17s not currently on the development squad as the preparations for 2010 begin. This will cut down on the trials needed at the start of next year. When players are involved in competitive football instead of in the wind and rain in January and February when they’re not active. Anyone who would like to be part of this should come along.

Senior Men. Well done to the Men who won against Ballinderry 3rds on Sunday last. Scorers for Ardmore were Mark O'Kane 0-4, Al McLaughlin 0-2, Jason Quinn 0-3, D McGee 0-6 and Chris Duddy 0-2. Next match is home to Doire Colmcille on Sunday14th details will be given out at training.
